A visit from the chicks!

The chicks were a big hit with all the pupils in y5. Everybody held one with confidence. A big thank you to Mrs. Robinson too, who helped pass the chicks to the children!

Poetry recital

All the pupils were able to learn their Natural Disasters poem and read it to the rest of the class, without their words!

Two class awards were achieved! Well done to all!

Cooking

During the Stone Age topic, we made toasted barley tea and oat biscuits. The children developed their culinary skills superbly!
Some budding chefs!

Sports Coach

We have been lucky to have a qualified coach taking our PE lessons a Tuesday. Lots of ball work and improving their speed and agility. All children are thoroughly enjoying the sessions.

Practical Maths

The year 5 pupils enjoyed the ongoing connect 3 competition today; using mental and strategic maths skills.

Semi finals to be played on Monday!

We've got the whole world...

In our hands! We certainly did when we carried out this task with play-doh! The children worked well in pairs to follow the instructions to create models of the earth with the various layers labelled.

Volcano homework

A model that actually erupted! We had 4 arrive this week, I'm pretty sure we'll have another 25 making their way into class over the next 4 weeks!

School Sinkhole Scare

The children produced some wonderful newspaper reports, after hearing the terrifying news that a sinkhole had appeared on the school field - only to find out, later that morning, that the 'mean' teachers had tricked them!

Christmas Glocks!

Year 5 played a wonderful version of Jingle Bells with the guitar accompaniment played by Mr. Bradshaw. They all did very well to read the music and play at the same time! Very talented.

'Twas The Night Before Christmas...

Half of year 5 volunteered to recite the classic poem in front of the whole school and 60 parents and staff! Super confidence shown and very clear voices!

Year 5 pupils making huts...

The children used clay, art straws and other materials to mould and weave their very own Iron Age hut. Great effort by all!

They had to read the instructions carefully and also use their maths skills to divide and measure.

Stone Henge Homework by Harvey

Harvey could not wait to bring his Stone Henge cake in to show...and share with the children (and staff!) Yum!
